The presence of Salman Rushdie in Romania was the publishing event of the year. ELLE magazine had a conversation with the celebrated author of The Satanic Verses. The topic was his latest novel, The Enchantress of Florence, published by Polirom Publishing House. Interview conducted by Mihaela Frank.

He is the most well-known contemporary French writer, with a reputation of a capricious star who doesn’t talk too much. However, I was determined to sit down and chat with the "bad boy" of French literature. We talked about his image as a provocateur, fear of aging and death, pessimism, love, and much more.
